Step #6 – Cuticle: “Sprinkler” – using short feathering strokes and keeping file flat start to detail the cuticle area, starting at the smile line and working around.
Step #7 – Nail Body: “Frisbee”– contour nail surface using long arching strokes from the groove towards center of nail plate. Use a “Reverse Frisbee” for opposite side. This action will start at the upper nail body and work down to the smile line.
Step #8 – Define Arch Location: Elevate hand to eye level. Keep file flat and pull file towards you, do not lift file from surface. Use a side to side rocking motion to bevel.
Step #9 – Feather and Bevel: With the hand still elevated angle file slightly down to achieve an even thin convex. Use a side to side rocking motion to bevel. Turn hand around to look down the nail surface and refine as needed.
